Vatican City.- Pope Leo XIV thanked the Spanish people this Sunday for welcoming him “with great enthusiasm and devotion” during his week-long apostolic journey, and extended his thanks “in a special way” to King Felipe VI.
“Dear brothers and sisters, I express, first of all, my gratitude to the Lord for the apostolic journey that He has granted me to make in Spain. I thank the Spanish people who have welcomed me with great enthusiasm and devotion. I am especially grateful to His Majesty the King,” said the pontiff after the Sunday Angelus prayer.
