The target of the bombing in Beirut was the head of Hizbullah’s Radwan Force

Beirut.- Israel carried out a bombing against the southern suburbs of Beirut, in what constitutes the first attack on the Lebanese capital since the ceasefire came into effect almost three weeks ago. According to Israeli authorities, the aim of the attack was the commander of the Radwan Force, the elite unit of the Shiite group Hizbullah, who is accused of being responsible for attacks against Israeli communities and military personnel. The Israeli Army confirmed the operation and assured that it acted on instructions from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz. According to the statement, immunity will not be granted to members of organizations considered terrorists.

The bombing occurred in the Dahye area, south of Beirut, considered a Hizbullah stronghold, and was also confirmed by Lebanese media, which reported explosions in the Ghobeiri area. This attack represents the first Israeli military action on the Lebanese capital since the start of the ceasefire, although both sides accuse each other of violating the agreement in recent days through attacks in southern Lebanon.
