They demand justice for the murder of a young man attacked with a machete in El Almirante

Santo Domingo.-Family and neighbors are dismayed after the violent death of Alexis Herasme, who was brutally attacked with machetes by unknown individuals on the night of Thursday around 9:00 p.m., in the El Almirante sector. Rosa Herasme, sister of the deceased, recounted that she was in her home when she received a call from her father informing her that Alexis had been urgently transferred to a health center. Not understanding the situation well, she decided to contact her brother’s wife, who confirmed that he had been attacked with machetes. Immediately, the family went to the hospital. “He was serious. While we were waiting, he had a cardiac arrest and passed away,” she expressed, visibly affected.

According to the testimony of family members, Alexis Herasme was watching a video when three individuals arrived at the scene. In a circulating video, it is observed that the victim did not expect the attack. The aggressors allegedly asked him if he had called the police and, without allowing him to answer, immediately attacked him with machetes, causing him mortal wounds.

So far, the exact causes of the crime are unknown.

Identification of the alleged accused

The family reported that it has formally identified the alleged perpetrators of the act, who reside in the same sector of El Almirante and are fugitives. Those indicated are:

• Jansiel Sánchez Adames, also known as “Jansiel Dom”, 19 years old, residing at Francisco del Rosario street number 8, El Almirante sector.
• José Luis Jiménez Acosta, also known as “Postell Dom”, 28 years old, residing at Teniente Amado García street number 3, El Almirante sector.
• José Ángel Terrero, also known as “Amarillo”, of Dominican nationality, residing at Rosa Duarte street, house number 15, El Almirante sector.

Family members and community members reported that the alleged perpetrators remain at large, which keeps the residents of the sector in a state of unrest. A neighbor, who claimed to have known Alexis Herasme since he was a baby, described him as “a good young man” and lamented that he had been murdered so cruelly. “For us, he is like a son. We want justice,” she expressed.

The family and neighbors made an urgent call to the authorities to speed up the investigations, capture those responsible, and prevent the case from going unpunished. They also requested the intervention of the communicator Ramón Tolentino to help make the case visible and support the family in their demand for justice. “Justice for my brother. That’s all we ask,” concluded Rosa Herasme.
