The Messina Prosecutor’s Office, on the Italian island of Sicily, is investigating the death of three hunters in a forest in the town of Montagnareale who had gunshot wounds.
The bodies, along with three rifles, were found last night by another hunter, a friend of one of the three, who went out looking for him after being unable to contact him, according to reports this Thursday by the Italian media.
Two of the dead hunters are brothers, Davis Pino, 26 years old, and Giuseppe Pino, 44, residents, and the third is Antonio Gatani, 82 years old, and they were all wearing hunting clothes for a black boar hunt, a local breed, which began on Wednesday morning.

The prosecution is investigating, among others, two main hypotheses: the first, a double homicide and suicide; and the second, that it may have been a triple homicide committed by a fourth person who subsequently fled.
The analysis of the wounds and the trajectory of the shots will be crucial to clarify what happened, the media explain.
The Carabineros specialists have cordoned off the area to investigate the possible presence of a fourth person as well as analyze the trajectories of the shots.
“What happened saddens us deeply,” declared the mayor of the town of Montagnareale, Salvatore Sidoti. “We still don’t know what happened, whether it was a hunting accident or something more. So far, the investigators have not revealed anything; the area is cordoned off and the Carabinieri are not allowing anyone to approach,” he indicated.
