Bahoruco.- A tragic traffic accident that occurred on the night of this Friday on the Cerro al Medio–Las Marías road section, in the municipality of Neiba, left a balance of three people dead, generating deep consternation among the residents of the area.
The fatalities were identified as Emilia Vargas, 27 years old; Alba Lidia Pérez Cuevas, 22 years old; and Jonatan Raúl Cuevas Montero, 23 years old.
According to preliminary information, a car, an SUV, and two motorcycles were involved in the incident.
Units from the National Emergency and Security Attention System 911 attended the scene of the accident, as well as agents from the General Directorate of Traffic and Ground Transportation Safety (Digesett) and members of the National Police, who carried out the rescue work and the corresponding investigation.
Authorities are keeping an investigation open to determine the exact causes of the event.
