Santo Domingo.– Journalist Ramón Tolentino addressed the police personnel of the Ensanche Naco precinct this Sunday, urging them to act correctly toward citizens, respecting their rights and using force and their service weapon only as a last resort during an intervention.
These recommendations were made by the journalist via a video call from the phone of that detachment’s commander, who thanked the communicator for his words of encouragement and guidance to the police personnel.
Tolentino cited as an example the recent case that occurred in Herrera, which has generated a wave of reactions in the country, mostly against the National Police, and which also forced President Luis Abinader, the Minister of Interior and Police, Faride Raful, and the director general of the institution, Andrés Modesto Cruz Cruz, to speak out publicly to express their indignation over what happened.

The journalist also pointed out to the agents that, in this case, two lives were lost: one that, unfortunately, ended with the death of a young man and another that, as he expressed, will remain in prison for a long time, leaving pain in both families.
