New York.- U.S. President Donald Trump said this Tuesday that he is not trying to “force” Iran to negotiate, expressed confidence in Washington’s position in the conflict, and urged the Iranian people to rise up against the Tehran regime.
“I am not trying to force Iran to the negotiating table, as ABC Fake News reported. I couldn’t care less if they sign a deal that, for them, is worth nothing,” the Republican leader wrote on Truth Social.
“I like our position much more now, with almost total control of the Strait of Hormuz and with their economy collapsing completely. They are only prolonging the inevitable. When will the Iranian people rise up and fight?”, the message concluded.
The statements come after Washington and Tehran resumed cross-attacks following nearly a month without hostilities, and after the Trump administration announced an economic pressure campaign against the Islamic Republic that includes sanctions.
