Santiago.- The Second Collegiate Tribunal of the Judicial District of Santiago sentenced merchant Danny Miguel García Estrella to 30 years in prison after finding him guilty of murdering Arismendy de Jesús Lizardo Rodríguez with nine shots, in an event that occurred in 2024 in the Pekín neighborhood, in the southern zone of this city.
The sentence was handed down after the judges accepted as valid and sufficient the evidence presented by the Public Prosecutor’s Office, which demonstrated the criminal responsibility of the accused in the death of Lizardo Rodríguez, who was killed in the presence of his three children under the ages of 4, 5 and 8 years old. In the same incident, the victim’s partner was also injured by a gunshot.
During the hearing, García Estrella showed apparent remorse after hearing the sentence that sends him to prison for three decades. The court ordered that he serve the sentence in the La Isleta Correction and Rehabilitation Center, in Moca.
