Trough causes rain in several provinces and maintains weather alerts in the country
Santo Domingo. – The country continues under the influence of a trough, which has caused showers in several provinces, especially in areas of the north, northeast and southwest of the Dominican Republic, reported the Dominican Institute of Meteorology (INDOMET).
According to forecaster Juan de las Rosas, significant rainfall was recorded during the day towards the north of Greater Santo Domingo, as well as in provinces such as San Pedro de Macorís, Monte Plata and locations near the Central Mountain Range. Rainfall was also reported in regions of the northeast and southwest of the national territory.
The specialist explained that, although the rains will decrease considerably during the night, for this Monday the country will continue under the influence of the trough combined with a moderate east wind, which will favor the occurrence of new showers, although of lesser intensity in Greater Santo Domingo.
He indicated that the rainfall will occur mainly in provinces such as Monte Plata, Monseñor Nouel and La Vega, among other areas of the country’s interior.
