Trough will cause scattered showers in some provinces of the country

Santo Domingo. – This Thursday, the Dominican Republic’s Meteorology Institute (INDOMET), forecast occasional scattered showers with isolated wind gusts, due to a weak trough and the influence of the northeast wind, which continues to transport cloudiness towards different locations in the provinces of the Atlantic coastal area, mainly over some towns of; María Trinidad Sánchez, Samaná, Duarte, Hermana Mirabal, Sánchez Ramírez, La Altagracia, El Seibo, Hato Mayor and Monte Plata among other nearby sectors. However, during the course of the afternoon, these precipitations will be a little more frequent and we expect them to continue extending towards different municipalities of; Sánchez Ramírez, Monte Plata, Hato Mayor, El Seibo, La Altagracia, La Romana, San Pedro de Macorís, the Gran Santo Domingo, San Cristóbal, San José de Ocoa, among others located in the Central Mountain Range, the Atlantic coast and the border area. Tomorrow, Friday; meteorological analyses and forecasts indicate the incidence in our area of responsibility of an upper-level trough. This, combined with local effects and the influence of the northeast wind, will cause occasional cloud cover increases, generating scattered showers and isolated wind gusts from early hours of the day, mainly in different provinces of the Atlantic coast. Such as; María Trinidad Sánchez, Samaná, Duarte, Puerto Plata, Monte Cristi, Espaillat, Hermana Mirabal, Dabajón, Valverde and Sánchez Ramírez.

Gradually extending towards the rest of the Atlantic coast, as well as other locations in the northeast and the Cordillera Central until the early hours of the night, in the form of scattered, weak to moderate at times, and isolated wind gusts.
