Trump withdraws the invitation to the Canadian Prime Minister to participate in the Gaza peace board
Washington.– U.S. President Donald Trump withdrew this Thursday the invitation he had made to Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney to be part of the Peace Board for Gaza, which his Government promotes and of which another 35 heads of State have agreed to be part.
«Dear Prime Minister Carney: I hereby inform you that the Peace Board withdraws the invitation for Canada to join what will be the most prestigious Leaders Board ever assembled,» Trump wrote on his official Truth Social account.
Trump’s decision comes in a context of some diplomatic tension between Washington and Ottawa, as Carney had adopted a cautious stance regarding the scope and governance of the Peace Board, requesting greater guarantees about its mandate and transparency.
