Santo Domingo.– The United States Joint Interagency Task Force South (JIATFS) recognized the Dominican Republic’s work in combating drug trafficking and transnational organized crime, highlighting the results obtained in recent operations against these structures.
The recognition was issued through a communication addressed to Vice Admiral José M. Cabrera Ulloa, president of the National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD), signed by Rear Admiral Jefrey K. Randall, director of the JIATFS.
In the letter, the high-ranking U.S. official highlighted the progress achieved by the Dominican authorities during the months of April and May, noting that the results are the product of the integration of joint intelligence, regional cooperation, and a proactive strategy against transnational threats.
Randall also valued the operations executed and the exchange of information that allowed for the issuance of alerts and the tracking of movements linked to illicit activities, further highlighting the performance of the air, maritime, and land patrol systems, which he described as highly efficient.

Likewise, the U.S. official underscored the coordination between the DNCD, the Dominican Republic Navy, the Air Force, and the State’s intelligence agencies, considering that this inter-institutional articulation constitutes an example of key cooperation for regional security.
For his part, Vice Admiral Cabrera Ulloa expressed his gratitude for the recognition on behalf of the Dominican government and reaffirmed the country’s commitment to continue strengthening cooperation with the United States in the fight against drug trafficking and transnational organized crime.
