Miami (USA).- The U.S. Armed Forces launched a new wave of attacks against Iran this Thursday for the fifth consecutive day, the U.S. Central Command (Centcom) reported amid the re-escalation of the war.
“Today at 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time (18:00 GMT), U.S. forces began executing a new wave of strikes against Iran for the fifth consecutive night to further degrade Iranian military capabilities,” stated Centcom, based in Florida, on its social media channels.
The military command offered no further details, although in past bombings it claimed to have attacked command centers, missile and drone systems, and surveillance facilities to weaken Iran’s ability to attack ships in the Strait of Hormuz, through which a fifth of global crude oil transited before the war.
On the other hand, Iranian authorities reported this Thursday the impact of U.S. projectiles against an airport in the province of Semnan, in the north of the country, with no deaths reported so far.
Iran accused the U.S. of committing a “war crime”
The Islamic Republic also accused Washington today of “a war crime” for an attack against a site in the vicinity of a pediatric oncology hospital in the southwestern city of Ahvaz.

In addition, Centcom reimposed the naval blockade on Iranian ports and vessels in Hormuz on Tuesday, two days after the Islamic Republic’s warning about closing this maritime route due to the U.S. bombings.
