Miami.- More than 20 U.S. warships are deployed in the Middle East, the U.S. military’s Central Command (Centcom) reported this Wednesday, following President Donald Trump’s warning of a possible new attack against Iran overnight, amid the re-escalation of the conflict.
“Today, more than 20 U.S. Navy warships are patrolling waters across the Middle East, as Centcom forces continue to promote regional security and stability,” the military body, based in Florida, reported on its social media.
In the post, which it accompanied with images of the deployment, Centcom recalled that warships and naval aircraft transited the Arabian Sea in close formation last month, when they “demonstrated unparalleled U.S. military strength and firepower.”
The information emerges hours after Trump warned in Ankara (Turkey) of a possible new attack on Wednesday night against Iran, stating that it remains to be seen what happens with the negotiations with Tehran after declaring the framework ceasefire agreement with the Islamic Republic, which he signed on June 17, to be over.
Trump anticipates more attacks on Iran
The United States attacked several locations in southern Iran on Tuesday in response to Iranian aggression against three commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz in recent days, which add to attacks by the Islamic Republic against U.S. bases in Gulf countries.

Trump explained that the U.S. military struck Jarg Island on Tuesday night, which is important for Iran’s crude oil exports, and noted that the United States “might” strike them “again tonight.”
He also stated that 28 “small” Iranian boats were eliminated, as well as the Iranian radar that was 60% rebuilt, according to his claims.
Meanwhile, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth specified that the U.S. attacked underground facilities where Iran stored drones or missiles, coastal defense sites, radar sites, surveillance centers, and “any facility used to harass maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz.”
