UASD Bonao Center swears in new authorities for the 2026-2030 period

Bonao, Monseñor Nouel. – In a solemn act held at the UASD Bonao Center Library, the new authorities of the Regional University Center were sworn in for the 2026-2030 period, with professor Pablo Abad Abad assuming the position of director and professor Erik Minor Cordero as deputy director, in a ceremony that brought together representatives of the Government, municipal and academic authorities, and prominent figures of the province.

The activity was attended by provincial governor Adela Tejada, municipal mayor Eberto Núñez, former mayor of Bonao Alberto Marte, directors of various UASD regional centers, as well as local authorities, teachers, students, and special guests.

During her farewell speech, the outgoing director, Ana Graciela Peña, recounted the main achievements reached during her tenure. She recalled that she received the center in very difficult conditions, with spaces that could not be used due to their deterioration, but she assured that, thanks to the support of President Luis Abinader, it was possible to execute important improvements that allowed for the recovery and strengthening of the facility’s infrastructure.

Peña expressed special gratitude to Governor Adela Tejada for the support provided during her administration and to Mayor Eberto Núñez for collaborating on the lighting of various areas of the center, actions that contributed to improving conditions for students and teachers. Likewise, she acknowledged the commitment of the entire administrative staff, highlighting in particular her collaborator and friend Dori, as well as the rest of the team that accompanied her during her tenure.

Upon assuming the leadership, Pablo Abad Abad publicly acknowledged the work carried out by Ana Graciela Peña, highlighting that she leaves behind a strengthened institution with significant progress. He affirmed that he will provide continuity to the projects initiated and will work to continue raising the academic quality of the center.

The new director took advantage of the presence of provincial and municipal authorities to request their support for new initiatives aimed at strengthening the campus, especially in the air conditioning of classrooms and other academic spaces, with the purpose of expanding the offer of master’s programs and other undergraduate and postgraduate degrees demanded by the province.

Both Governor Adela Tejada and Mayor Eberto Núñez congratulated the outgoing director for the results achieved during her administration and wished Pablo Abad success in the new stage he is beginning, reaffirming their willingness to continue supporting the development of the UASD Bonao Center.

For his part, former mayor Alberto Marte valued the work performed by Ana Graciela Peña, highlighting her human quality, dedication, and permanent commitment to the strengthening of higher education in the province. Likewise, he congratulated the new director Pablo Abad Abad, expressing his confidence that he will carry out a successful management for the benefit of the students and the academic development of Monseñor Nouel.

The ceremony concluded with an atmosphere of optimism and institutional commitment, marked by the support of the authorities present and the common goal of continuing to promote the growth of the UASD Bonao Center as one of the main higher education institutions in the region.
