The United States carried out a new attack against a vessel transporting drugs in the Eastern Pacific, as confirmed by the Southern Command in the afternoon of this Thursday through its account on the social network X.
“By order of the Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, Joint Task Force Southern Spear conducted a lethal operation against a ship operated by an organization designated as a terrorist,” the agency noted in its message.
According to the military statement, the attack was carried out in international waters after confirming that the ship was transporting illicit narcotics on a typical drug trafficking route. As a result of the intervention, four alleged narcoterrorists traveling on board were killed.
The operation is part of the actions of the US forces to disrupt the maritime routes of criminal organizations in the hemisphere, under a strategy that intensified the blows against drug trafficking structures in the Caribbean and the Pacific.
