Utect Director highlights savings of over RD$55 million for families with titles in Hato Nuevo II

Los Alcarrizos. – The executive director of the Technical Executive Unit for Land Titling of the State (UTECT), Duarte Méndez, highlighted this Thursday the social and economic impact of the titling program during the delivery of property certificates to hundreds of families in the Hato Nuevo II project. During the event led by President Luis Abinader, Méndez explained that the project benefits 688 people, of whom 444 received their property titles on this day.

“Today I know it is a day of joy and hope for all of you, especially for the beneficiaries of this titling project here in Hato Nuevo, where the president is delivering 444 property titles,” he expressed.

The official indicated that the works were executed by UTECT in coordination with the General Directorate of National Assets on plot 10 of Cadastral District 31, covering an area of 200,026 square meters. As explained, the process allows hundreds of families to definitively obtain the legality of the land where they have lived for years.

“Thanks to this titling process, families receive their title completely free, which means that today they can embrace that document with pride and say: ‘this land is finally mine’,” he affirmed.

Méndez highlighted that the delivery represents a significant economic saving for the beneficiaries.

“This means a saving of 55 million 40 thousand pesos, which is what you would have had to spend to obtain these titles if there were no government to promote this program”, he pointed out.

The director of UTECT also reported that the municipality of Los Alcarrizos has been one of the most benefited by the titling plan, accumulating to date 16,773 title certificates delivered. He also indicated that the program will continue to expand, with more than 4,500 titles currently in process in different sectors of the demarcation. “We continue to work day by day so that every Dominican who is located on a piece of state land has the legal security that a property title represents,” he stated. Finally, he assured that the title program will continue to advance throughout the country with the aim of guaranteeing legal security, improving the value of properties and strengthening the stability of thousands of Dominican families.
