It highlights that more than 167,000 titles have been delivered nationwide and announces new events throughout the country, to continue bringing social justice, tranquility, peace, and development.Santiago.- President Luis Abinader, along with First Lady Raquel Arbaje, delivered this Monday 1,025 property title certificates to families in Hato del Yaque, as part of a project that includes 1,359 titles, bringing the total to 7,632 delivered in the province of Santiago since the beginning of his administration in 2020.
This delivery corresponds to the second stage of Hato del Yaque and, on this occasion, impacts residents of the El Tamarindo, Mateo Pelón, and Villa Progreso sectors.
Abinader reported that on this day, 1,025 title certificates are being delivered, as part of a process that seeks to transform communities and boost the local economy through greater investment, construction, and financing opportunities.
He highlighted that, with the delivery made in Hato del Yaque, nearly 4,800 title certificates have been awarded in this community, making it one of the districts where the most progress has been made in proportional terms throughout the country. He also pointed out that the work will continue in sectors such as Villa Fátima, where there are still titles pending delivery.
The president explained that with this initiative the legal security of the beneficiary families is guaranteed, avoiding situations that occurred in the past where third parties tried to seize or sell land occupied for years by their legitimate residents. “You entered through these doors and you are going to leave with the security of your title“, he affirmed, underlining that the Government has put an end to these practices and is giving the property to those who have really inhabited it.
He also indicated that the title directly impacts the value of the properties, ensuring that when formalized, they can double or even triple their value. He explained that having a title allows access to bank loans, making improvements, starting small businesses or guaranteeing an estate for their families and in that sense, he clarified that, after a recent legal modification, these titles can be freely transferred, unlike the old family assets that could not be transferred.
Finally, he reported that more than 167,000 property titles have already been delivered nationwide and announced that new events will continue in the coming weeks, including the delivery of thousands of certificates in sectors of the National District such as Domingo Savio. “We will continue like this throughout the country, including in Santiago, bringing social justice, tranquility, peace and development with the delivery of titles“.
More than 7,600 titles delivered in Santiago and another 5,800 in process
For his part, the executive director of the Technical Unit for the Execution of State Land Titling, Duarte Méndez, highlighted the scope of this program in the province and the projects in execution, indicating that President Abinader has given great importance to this province of Santiago, since he has delivered a total of 7,632 title certificates since he began his administration in 2020 to date; and added that they are working on 3,128 more title certificates in Villa Liberación de la Otra Banda, Sabana Grande de Batey, Villa Fátima and 2,700 functional units in the Villa Olímpica, for a total of 5,828 titles that will be delivered during the course of this year.
Likewise, he highlighted that thanks to this titling process, the beneficiary families receive their certificates completely free of charge, which results in a saving of RD$108,720,000.00 that they would have had to invest if this process had been done through the private route and today, thanks to the commitment of President Abinader, they receive these titles without investing a single peso from their pockets.
He specified that the work carried out by the Technical Unit for the Titling of State Lands, together with the Dominican Agrarian Institute, on plot No. 207-B-8,D.C.03, covered a geographical area of 103,191.91 square meters.
