Caracas.- The Foreign Minister of Venezuela, Félix Plasencia, reported this Sunday that he held a telephone conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Spain, José Manuel Albares, in which they evaluated opportunities for bilateral cooperation.
“I held a cordial and productive call today with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Spain, José Manuel Albares, in which we addressed bilateral issues and opportunities for cooperation,” noted Plasencia -in a post on X-.
The Venezuelan foreign minister did not offer further details on what these cooperation opportunities with the European country would be.
Likewise, Plasencia expressed gratitude for Spain’s spirit of solidarity and willingness to accompany Venezuela in the reconstruction phase following the double earthquake on June 24th.
The Spanish response to the earthquakes in Venezuela
The Foreign Ministry added, in a press release, that the European nation was one of the first countries to arrive in Venezuela after the earthquakes, with a brigade made up of 67 rescuers and 8 dogs and, subsequently, installed a field hospital in a park in the east of Caracas.

Among the measures adopted, Spain allocated one million euros to the Red Cross emergency appeal, has sent essential supplies valued at 300,000 euros from the border with Colombia, and has approved an additional contribution of 500,000 euros, agreed upon with the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation, fifteen autonomous communities, and the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces.
