La Romana. – Two violent incidents that occurred in the municipality of Villa Hermosa resulted in the deaths of two young men from gunshot wounds, increasing the concern of residents regarding the constant episodes of violence affecting different sectors of that area.

One of the victims was identified as Erick Manuel Herrera Ruiz, 18 years old, who died after being shot several times in the Piedra Linda sector.

The second victim was identified as Brahian Forchue Reyes, 25 years old, who also lost his life as a result of gunshot wounds suffered in the Los Maestros sector, in the same municipality.

Both young men were taken to the Villa Hermosa Municipal Hospital, where agents from the Regional Sub-directorate of Criminal Investigations (DICRIM), members of the Scientific Police, representatives of the Public Ministry, and forensic doctor Benito Kelly, who performed the removal of the bodies, subsequently arrived.

According to the preliminary report, both deceased individuals had gunshot wounds. By order of the Public Ministry, the bodies were sent to the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (INACIF) for the corresponding studies.

The National Police reported that it has initiated investigations to identify and capture those responsible for both incidents, with the goal of bringing them to justice.

The authorities indicated that, so far, there is no evidence linking both cases, so the investigations are being carried out independently.
