Santo Domingo.- The Minister of Public Works and Communications (MOPC), Eduardo Estrella, highlighted that the construction of the new Plaza de la Bandera tunnel was financed with resources from the agreement between the Dominican State and Aerodom.

During a tour of the construction site, the official reported that the project required an investment of RD$3.3 billion, funds which, he assured, have been allocated in accordance with what was established for the development of infrastructure works.

“This work is being carried out with Aerodom funds. People said those resources had been spent, but they are being religiously invested in the works authorized by President Luis Abinader,” Estrella stated.

The minister explained that the tunnel is part of a set of road solutions that the Government is executing to improve mobility in Greater Santo Domingo, along with other projects such as the entrance to the Duarte highway, new overpasses, and the Los Alcarrizos beltway.
