Xi and Putin address the war in Ukraine and reaffirm their alliance during call
Beijing.- The Chinese President, Xi Jinping, held a telephone conversation this Friday with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, in which they discussed the war in Ukraine and reaffirmed the strategic nature of their bilateral relations, according to state media reports.
During the dialogue, Putin, who according to the Xinhua news agency was the one who requested the call, explained the Russian position on the war in Ukraine and positively valued China’s role in the search for a political solution.
Xi, for his part, reiterated that Beijing will maintain its position of promoting dialogue and favoring a ceasefire, regardless of how the situation evolves.
