Chinese President Xi Jinping issued his New Year’s message this Tuesday, in which he highlighted the country’s main achievements during 2025 and expressed confidence in the nation’s future for the new year.
In his speech, Xi pointed out that 2025 marked the end of the 14th Five-Year Plan and assured that China met its economic and social development goals, with sustained progress in growth, technological innovation, and strengthening of strategic sectors. The leader affirmed that the country has continued to raise its productive capacity and its overall strength, while improving the well-being of the population through policies aimed at employment stability, social protection, and sustainable development. Xi Jinping also referred to the international scenario, which he described as complex and changing, reiterating China’s commitment to global cooperation, peace, and shared development. In that context, he reaffirmed the Chinese Government’s position on national reunification, pointing it out as an inevitable historical trend. The message concluded with a call for the unity of the Chinese people and joint efforts to face the challenges of the future, with the aim of advancing towards higher-quality development and common prosperity in the coming year.
