Santo Domingo.- A survey by the firm Barómetro indicates that in view of the presidential primaries for 2028, in the internal elections of the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM), Yayo Sanz Lovatón would obtain 22% of the preferential votes.

In the poll, first place goes to the current Minister of Tourism, David Collado, who would obtain 25% of the votes. While, third place is held by the mayor of the National District, Carolina Mejía with 15%. For his part, Guido Gómez Mazara, director of INDOTEL, follows closely with 13%. Then figures Vice President Raquel Peña with 7%, Wellington Arnaud with 5%, and finally Tony Peña with 3%.

These results are the product of a study conducted from April 21 to 25, 2025, with a sample of 1,200 people, and point to an open landscape within the PRM, without a clear consolidated favorite.

Analysts point out that the numbers show a balance of power among the aspirants, which could push some of them to seek strategic alliances before the internal contest. In fact, there is already talk of possible agreements between pre-candidates to present unified proposals and strengthen their position in the face of the ruling party’s primaries.
