Santo Domingo.– The National Police reported that it maintains an active search for a 20-year-old man, identified as Erikson Antonio Bonilla, accused of allegedly assaulting his ex-partner, a 15-year-old teenager who remains admitted to the intensive care unit of the Dr. Robert Reid Cabral Children’s Hospital.

According to the authorities, the minor is receiving medical attention due to the severity of the injuries sustained during the incident, while investigation teams are carrying out procedures to locate the main suspect and place him at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor’s Office.

Investigations reveal that this case has a precedent that occurred less than a month ago. On June 26, Bonilla was detained by police officers after an incident in which he allegedly attempted to assault the teenager.

Following his arrest, the case was referred to the Public Prosecutor’s Office. However, the young man regained his freedom the following day and, as part of the measures adopted, a restraining order was imposed to prevent any approach to the victim.

Now, the authorities are investigating a new assault attributed to the same individual, which left the minor in critical condition and prompted an operation to locate him.

The National Police urged the suspect to turn himself in through the means he deems appropriate and requested that any citizen with information regarding his whereabouts collaborate with the authorities through official channels, in order to facilitate his capture and the progress of the investigation.
