19-year-old remains in critical condition after being hit and abandoned in the National District

SANTO DOMINGO.– Moments of anguish and desperation are experienced by the family members of a 19-year-old who remains in critical condition in the emergency room of the Dr. Ney Arias Lora Teaching Traumatology University Hospital, after being run over by a driver who left him abandoned on the pavement and fled.

The young man was identified as Gregory Basora Díaz, who, according to his relatives, had shared a family dinner in the Quisqueya neighborhood and later went out to visit his girlfriend, when the accident occurred.

The incident was recorded on the dawn of this Thursday, at the intersection of 27 de Febrero Avenue with Carmen Mendoza de Corniel Street, in the National District, where Gregory was hit by a vehicle whose driver has not yet been identified. Family members of the young man demand that the authorities find the person responsible for the hit-and-run and seek justice, while maintaining hope for a favorable evolution in the affected person’s health.
