Maimón, Monseñor Nouel. – The President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, inaugurated this Thursday the renovated and expanded Maimón Municipal Hospital, a project that significantly strengthens healthcare in the Monseñor Nouel province and will benefit thousands of families in this municipality and surrounding areas.
The intervention included the modernization of the facilities, the expansion of various service areas, and the equipping with updated medical technology, highlighting a new and modern Emergency room. In addition, the First Level Center (CPN) was delivered, intended to expand primary care coverage in the community.
During his speech, the president highlighted his administration’s commitment to strengthening the public health system and announced that the Pedro Emilio de Marchena Provincial Hospital in Bonao will soon have specialized hemodialysis and oncology services, allowing patients to receive high-complexity treatments without the need to travel to Santo Domingo.
Abinader also informed that he will return to the municipality of Maimón in approximately two and a half months to inaugurate three new works of great impact for the community: the La Leonora bridge, the Comprehensive Early Childhood Care Center (CAIPI), and an electrical transformer station that will contribute to improving the stability of the energy service in the area.

Likewise, he announced that the Ministry of Housing and Buildings will carry out a technical evaluation of the San Isidro Labrador parish with the purpose of determining the necessary repairs for its refurbishment.
For his part, the executive director of the National Health Service (SNS), Julio César Landrón, highlighted the progress made in the transformation of the national hospital network and pointed out that expansion work continues at the Pedro Emilio de Marchena Hospital, where plans include increasing bed capacity, strengthening the Intensive Care Unit, and optimizing the Emergency area.
The provincial governor of Monseñor Nouel, Adela Tejada, stated that the delivery of the Maimón Municipal Hospital represents the fulfillment of a historic demand of the population. She indicated that for years the community waited to have a modern, equipped health center capable of responding to the needs of the citizens.
“Today we can affirm that the wait was worth it. This work reflects the Government’s commitment to the well-being of our people and to the development of Monseñor Nouel,” stated the representative of the Executive Branch in the province.
The ceremony was attended by the senator for Monseñor Nouel, Héctor Acosta, as well as mayors Eberto Núñez and Luis Rafael Muñoz Luzón, in addition to the executive director of PROMESE/CAL, José Luis López, health sector authorities, legislators, and representatives of various institutions in the province.
With this delivery, the Government continues to promote the strengthening of the national health infrastructure and reaffirms its commitment to bringing quality services closer to communities in the interior of the country.
