SANTO DOMINGO. – A recent survey conducted by the firm Sondeos revealed who are the officials who enjoy the greatest trust and approval from the Dominican citizenry. The report highlights that a select group of the presidential cabinet has managed to maintain positive reputation levels above 80%.
The ranking of officials with “High Reputation” is headed by Leonardo Aguilera, executive president of the Banco de Reservas, who holds an 82% positive rating. He is closely followed by the Minister of Tourism, David Collado, with an 81%.
In third position, with a solid 80%, are tied the governor of the Central Bank, Héctor Valdez Albizu, whose valuation reflects the perception of economic stability in the country, and former senator and current advisor Eduardo Estrella.
The study also evaluated the performance and affinity of officials with the Government’s objectives. In this section, figures such as Wellington Arnaud (Director of INAPA) and Samuel Pereyra Rojas stand out, both with an 80% approval rating for their technical and managerial performance. For his part, the Minister of the Presidency, José Ignacio Paliza, maintains a valuation of 78%.
On the other hand, the survey identifies the officials with the greatest challenges in their public image. The administrator of Banco Agrícolas Fernando Durán, figures with a 15% low rating, followed by the chancellor Roberto Álvarez (18%) and Celso Marranzini, president of the Unified Council of Electricity Distribution Companies (CUED), who registers a 13% unfavorable rating, possibly impacted by the perception of the electrical service.
This survey, conducted with a sample of 1,200 face-to-face interviews nationwide.
