Santo Domingo.- Dominican authorities, through the Office of the Attorney General of the Republic (PGR) and the National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD), with the collaboration of the United States Marshals Service, within the framework of ongoing cooperation in the search and capture of international fugitives, extradited a woman accused of trafficking methamphetamine in U.S. territory.
Emely Paredes Sosa was transported by special units of the DNCD to the Las Américas International Airport (JFPG-AILA), where she was handed over to U.S. officials, who escorted her on a commercial flight to the United States to answer the charges pending against her.

The 38-year-old Dominican woman is wanted by a court in the Southern District of New York, which accuses her of conspiracy to distribute and possess 500 grams or more of mixtures and substances containing a detectable amount of methamphetamine, its salts and isomers, in violation of the United States Code.
Paredes Sosa was extradited through decree 405-26, after being arrested in a search and capture operation in February of this year, 2026, in the Palmarito sector of La Vega province.
