MOCA.- With a renewed roster, international experience, and a combination of established players and young talents, Moca Football Club prepares to face the 2026 season of the Dominican Football League (LDF), which will begin next Friday, August 21, at the Moca 85 stadium.

The aurinegro team made official several additions with which it seeks to strengthen different areas of the field and increase its competitiveness during the Apertura and Clausura tournaments of the LDF.

Among the main new additions are the experienced midfielder Gerard Lavergne, the goalkeeper Alessandro Baroni, the attacking midfielder Jason Yambatis, the forward José Jáquez Jr., the midfielder José Ramón Alcene and the young fullback Wilsander Pérez Sierra.

Venezuelan head coach Jean Carlos Güell valued the board’s support in building a squad with greater depth and different alternatives for the challenges of the new campaign.

Lavergne brings experience to the midfield

Gerard Lavergne arrives as one of the key pieces to strengthen the midfield of the Moca team.

The Dominican midfielder has international experience after playing for FC Tucson, in the United States, and York United, in Canada. He has also defended the colors of the Dominican National Team, Atlético Pantoja, Cibao FC, and San Cristóbal.

His career seeks to bring balance, leadership, and experience to the aurinegro midfield.

Baroni strengthens the goal

In goal, Alessandro Baroni joins the Moca project with national and international experience.

The Dominican goalkeeper had a stint with Boavista, in Portugal, in addition to defending the jerseys of O&M FC, Atlético Pantoja, and the Dominican National Team.

His incorporation represents an option to increase competition and provide security between the posts.

Yambatis returns to Moca FC

Attacking midfielder Jason Yambatis returns to wear the Moca FC jersey with the intention of providing creativity, dynamism, and the ability to generate play in the final third of the field.

Yambatis has experience in the LDF with Atlético Pantoja and Atlético Vega Real, in addition to having been part of the Dominican U-20 National Team.

The player previously had a stint with Moca FC during the 2024 Concacaf Caribbean Cup, a tournament in which he scored a goal against Ouanaminthe FC.

Jáquez Jr. bolsters the attack

To strengthen the offensive front, Moca FC incorporates center forward José Jáquez Jr., who has experience in several LDF clubs.

The attacker has defended the colors of Cibao FC, Atlético Pantoja, Atlético Vega Real, and O&M FC, in addition to having international experience with Royal Pari FC, from Bolivia.

His arrival expands the offensive alternatives for the aurinegro team for the new campaign.

Youth and projection

The project also adds midfielder José Ramón Alcene, coming from Atlético Pantoja, who will seek to earn a spot on the roster and contribute to the team’s balance.

Likewise, the young fullback Wilsander Pérez Sierra, one of the institution’s promising talents, will continue his development process with the first team, contributing youth, speed, and potential.

With these additions, Moca FC is betting on a mix of experience, youth, and national and international talent, with the goal of remaining among the protagonists of the Dominican Football League during the 2026 season.
