Hostos Rizik Lugo announces the start of the National Road Lighting Program

SANTO DOMINGO. – The director of RD Vial, Hostos Rizik Lugo, announced the start of the National Road Lighting Program, an initiative that seeks to reinforce security on the country’s main highways and guarantee safer transit for all citizens. Rizik Lugo explained that the program’s main objective is to improve nighttime visibility, reduce traffic accidents, and provide greater peace of mind to those traveling on national roads, especially during the season of highest vehicular flow.

In this first stage, the lighting works cover important roadways such as the Las Américas Highway, the East and Coral sections, the 6 de Noviembre highway, the Duarte Highway, the Frank Rainieri Tourist Boulevard and the Ecological Avenue. “The commitment is that every Dominican can return home safely every night. When the roads shine, we all shine,” the official expressed, highlighting the positive impact of the program. The director of RD Vial indicated that the National Road Lighting Program will continue to be extended to other strategic highways in the country, as part of the Government’s efforts to modernize road infrastructure and strengthen citizen security in the Dominican Republic.
