JCE guarantees cleansing of the civil registry in the new ID card process

Santo Domingo.– The president of the Central Electoral Board (JCE), Román Jáquez, assured that all citizens who will receive the new identity card have been subjected to a rigorous process of purification of the civil registry, initiated since December 2020.

Jáquez explained that this process is part of the ongoing work carried out by the institution to ensure that the renewal of the identity document complies with constitutional requirements and high security standards.

“The Central Electoral Board, since December 2020, is in a permanent process of cleaning up the civil registry, with a view to issuing a new identity card in accordance with the Constitution,” the official affirmed. As part of the delivery schedule, this week corresponds to the political parties. According to the JCE, the leaders of the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM) will be the first to receive the document, starting at 8:15 a.m. this Monday. On Tuesday, it will be the turn of the Fuerza del Pueblo (FP) party, starting at 10:00 in the morning, while on Wednesday, the leaders of the Partido de la Liberación Dominicana (PLD) will receive the new ID card, starting at 9:00 in the morning. The delivery will continue on Thursday, February 12th with the Dominican Revolutionary Party (PRD), at 2:00 PM, followed by the Social Christian Reformist Party (PRSC) at 3:00 PM. Subsequently, at 4:00 PM, it will be the turn of Dominicanos por el Cambio (DXC), and at 5:00 PM to País Posible (PP).
