Santo Domingo.- Residents of the communities of La Ceiba, Rancho Arriba, Reventón, and Santana have made a public appeal to the authorities to clarify the circumstances surrounding the death of the child Anser Daniel Rincón, a case that has gone more than four months without a definitive answer.

During a community demonstration, the president of the La Ceiba Neighborhood Board, Liriana Laureano Figueroa, expressed the concern and indignation of the sector’s residents, who state that they have been waiting for official information regarding the event.

The community leader maintained that there are questions regarding the initial version of what happened and pointed out that the community wants to know the results of the investigations.

Likewise, he stated that both the relatives and the residents need a clear and transparent explanation from the competent authorities.

“The community needs an answer and cannot continue waiting in silence,” expressed Laureano.

The 15-year-old baseball prospect was found allegedly drowned in a lagoon located in the Sierra Prieta community, on the Villa Mella–Yamasá highway, behind the José Méndez baseball sports academy, and was known in the community for his exemplary behavior and for maintaining a life dedicated to his home and sports activities.

“He was a high-society boy, from the beach to his home, and for this reason, we have decided to support the family in their demand for justice,” indicated Liriana.

The protesters concluded the activity with chants of “We want justice!”, demanding that the authorities accelerate the investigations and provide information that allows for determining the true circumstances of the minor’s death.
