Labor Minister says it is the Government’s priority to complete initiated works

Salcedo.– The Minister of Labor, Eddy Olivares Ortega, held a meeting with local authorities in Salcedo, Hermanas Mirabal province, as part of the national day “The Government in the Provinces”.

During the meeting, held in the government building, the minister highlighted the firm will of the president, Luis Abinader, to complete as soon as possible the works started in the province of Hermanas Mirabal and the entire country.

Olivares Ortega stated that, through the “Government in the Provinces,” provincial and municipal capacities are strengthened, promoting transparency, efficiency in public management, and the active participation of local actors. During the provincial tour, the official was accompanied by the well-known community leader and representative of Falpo, José Martín Medina, who during a dialogue they held on the main infrastructure priorities for the community acknowledged that some of the works are ready to be inaugurated and others almost finished.

Commitments to local employability

Olivares announced that the Ministry of Labor will renovate and equip its offices in Salcedo next month, with the purpose of providing a quality service as the citizens of the Hermanas Mirabal province deserve. He also reported that the Ministry of Labor will strengthen the management of decent jobs in the province and will make the desire of social organizations and the Government to establish a Workshop School a reality, in which young people will be able to train in trades such as crafts, plumbing, electricity, construction, among others, with the aim of facilitating their labor insertion and contributing to the development of their communities. Among the unfinished works visited by Olivares Ortega are: the caobas bridge, the Ana Delia Florentino School, the Javilla road, Palmarito, Community Technological Center, Los Santanas road and bridge. In the “Government in the Provinces” event, the provincial governor Lissette Nicasio de Adames, the senator, María Mercedes Ortíz, the deputy Félix Santiago Hiciano, the Vice Minister of Labor Mayrenis Corniel García and the mayor of Villa Tapia Raquel Rosario, among others, were present.
