La Vega.— Authorities identified the man whose body was found burned next to a vehicle inside a mine located in the vicinity of the El Pino community, near the Duarte highway, in the province of La Vega, as Martín Antonio Salvador Burgos Solano, 63 years old.
The chief prosecutor of La Vega, Aura Luz García, reported that, according to preliminary investigations, no evidence has been found so far indicating the involvement of third parties in the death of Salvador Burgos. However, she clarified that the inquiries remain open.

The case came to light after the National Emergency System 9-1-1 received an alert call about a vehicle fire inside the mine.
According to information gathered by the authorities, a witness stated that they observed Salvador Burgos enter the location alone in the vehicle and that, approximately five minutes later, they saw it begin to catch fire, so they proceeded to contact 9-1-1.

When the Fire Department units arrived, the car was completely engulfed in flames. The rescuers managed to extinguish the fire, but the vehicle was completely incinerated.
Subsequently, agents from the Scientific Police and representatives of the Public Ministry arrived at the scene to collect evidence and document the scene.
The medical examiner, Dr. Polanco, performed the removal of the body and explained that the corpse was in an advanced state of carbonization, a condition that initially hindered its identification.
The remains were transferred to the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (Inacif) in Santiago, where they will undergo the corresponding studies to establish the circumstances of the death with precision.
During the inspection, the Scientific Police technicians collected various items as evidence, including the vehicle license plate, a completely burnt cell phone, a flower pot, and a pair of pliers-type scissors, in addition to other objects found at the scene.
Prosecutor Aura Luz García reiterated that, up to this moment, the authorities have not identified any evidence that implicates third parties in the incident.
Investigations remain ongoing to determine precisely what caused the vehicle fire and the circumstances under which Martín Antonio Salvador Burgos Solano died.
