Santo Domingo.- The National Police reported the arrest in flagrante delicto of Keuri Samuel Upia, known as “Tuyio”, 32, identified as the alleged perpetrator of the death of his former romantic partner, Neliza Figueroa, 27, in an incident that occurred on Sunday night in the La Zurza sector of the National District.
The institution’s spokesperson, Colonel Diego Pesqueira, reported that the detainee will be placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor’s Office in the coming hours to answer for the crime.

Likewise, he highlighted that the victim leaves behind two orphaned children, 7 and 4 years old.

According to preliminary investigations, the incident occurred at the victim’s residence. After receiving an alert through the 9-1-1 National Emergency and Security Response System, police officers arrived at the scene, where they found the woman without vital signs and proceeded to arrest the alleged attacker.
The Scientific Police collected at the scene the bladed weapon allegedly used in the assault and other evidence, while the case remains under investigation by the Public Prosecutor’s Office and the National Police.
