Santo Domingo.- A well-known criminal who was actively sought under an arrest warrant for his alleged participation in several armed robberies died after engaging in a shootout with members of the Central Investigation Directorate (DICRIM) during an operation carried out on the San Isidro Highway, Santo Domingo Este municipality.
n” “nIt is Reymond Taveraz Ortega, alias “Flaco Prenda”, who was wounded by gunfire after attacking a patrol composed of agents from the investigation divisions (DICRIM) of West Santo Domingo (Las Caobas) and East Santo Domingo (Eastern Zone) with a revolver he was carrying illegally.
n” “nThe incident occurred near some cabins located on the aforementioned road, where the agents were carrying out work to locate him.
According to the preliminary report, upon noticing the police presence, “Flaco Prenda” opened fire on the officers, who were forced to repel the aggression. After being wounded, he was taken to the Dr. Darío Contreras Traumatology Hospital, where he subsequently died while receiving medical attention.
