Santo Domingo.- In the framework of the preparations for the sixth edition of the Plastics for Toys program, Esther Patricia and Adriana Margarita, daughters of President Luis Abinader and First Lady Raquel Arbaje, visited the Municipal Palace of the National District this Saturday to learn about the methodology and logistics of the event.
The young women were received by the Director of Innovation and Special Projects of the DN Mayor’s Office, Yolanda de la Rosa, who explained the organizational details of the traditional exchange of plastic bottles for toys, considered one of the events with the greatest impact in terms of environmental awareness in the country. During the tour, De la Rosa highlighted that the initiative, promoted by Mayor Carolina Mejía, has managed to collect more than 33 million plastic bottles throughout its different editions, establishing itself as a benchmark for environmental education and recycling.You can read: DN Mayor’s Office ready for the sixth edition of Plastics for Toys this Sunday
The president’s daughters expressed their gratitude for the information received and valued the continuity and growth of the program, which attracts thousands of families from the National District every year.
