The official reiterated that the Government maintains a zero-tolerance stance against any illicit act. “We did not come to govern to cover up acts of corruption. As soon as they are identified, absolutely nothing is hidden,” she assured. He recalled that it is the Public Ministry, as an independent body, that is in charge of carrying out the investigation to its ultimate consequences, and he highlighted that the scandal demonstrates the need to strengthen control mechanisms in public institutions. However, he warned that there will always be risks: “When someone wants to do something wrong, they look for a way to evade any type of control.” The vice president reiterated the government’s commitment to make transparent every irregularity detected and ensure that those responsible are prosecuted according to the law.
