Santo Domingo. – The Minister of Public Works, Eduardo Estrella, informed that the road and environmental intervention of República de Colombia Avenue and its surroundings will take an estimated period of two years. During the project presentation, Estrella explained that it is a comprehensive solution that seeks to improve transit and preserve the ecological environment, especially the areas near the National Botanical Garden.

The work will include improvements in road infrastructure, overpasses, storm drainage, and adaptation of public spaces. Within the measures, 25 crossings on the Republic of Colombia avenue will be eliminated and six operational returns will be put in place. Estrella highlighted that this infrastructure will be carried out with the funds obtained by the State through the agreement with .Aeropuertos Dominicanos Siglo XXI
