Congratulations! The first direct Arajet flight from the Dominican Republic to San Juan, Puerto Rico, takes off.

Santo Domingo.– The Dominican airline Arajet marked a new chapter in the air connectivity of the Caribbean with the official departure of its first direct flight between the Dominican Republic and San Juan, Puerto Rico, this Wednesday.

The new route represents a significant advance in bilateral relations between both territories, facilitating travel and promoting tourism, trade, and cultural exchanges between Dominicans and Puerto Ricans.

The inaugural flight took off from the Las Américas International Airport, amidst a festive atmosphere, with authorities from the Dominican Ministry of Tourism, Arajet executives, and representatives of the media on board, heading to the Island of Enchantment to participate in the official opening ceremony in San Juan.

The Governor of Puerto Rico, Jenniffer González, will lead the welcoming ceremony along with an official Dominican delegation, in an event that symbolizes the historical closeness between both Caribbean islands.

In addition to bringing the two countries closer, this new route opens the doors to 11 international destinations in Arajet’s network for Puerto Rican travelers, through connections via Santo Domingo and Punta Cana. Among the available destinations are Aruba, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Brazil, Chile, Argentina, Mexico, Colombia, and Peru.
