The cartoon: Everything goes up, except the paycheck

Santo Domingo.– This Wednesday, October 21st, cartoon portrays, with humor and a good dose of irony, the concern of thousands of Dominican families regarding the rising cost of fuel and its potential repercussions on transportation, food, and other daily expenses.
The Minister of the Presidency, José Ignacio Paliza, announced that the Government will announce new measures in the coming days to alleviate the impact of the increases, while defending the subsidies that the State maintains to contain prices.
However, while the authorities talk about subsidies and support measures, many citizens feel that their income covers less and less. Our cartoon poses a question that summarizes that concern: what is the use of so much aid if the money still doesn’t last until the next paycheck?
