Actress Diane Keaton dies at 79 years old

USA.- The renowned actress Diane Keaton, one of the most beloved and unique figures in American cinema, passed away this Saturday in California at the age of 79, according to a family spokesperson, who requested respect and privacy during this time of mourning.

Born in Los Angeles in 1946 under the name of Diane Hall, she adopted her mother’s maiden name as her stage name and became a cinema and fashion icon for more than five decades of career. Keaton achieved worldwide fame thanks to her role as Kay Adams in The Godfather and won the Oscar for Best Actress for her performance in Annie Hall (1977), a film directed by Woody Allen, with whom she collaborated on several emblematic productions such as Sleeper, Love and Death and Manhattan.

Throughout her career, she also participated in successful films such as Father of the Bride, The First Wives Club, and Something’s Gotta Give, establishing herself as a versatile performer, capable of moving between comedy and drama with naturalness and authenticity. Beyond her on-screen talent, Diane Keaton left her mark for her personal style and her vision of the world. She defied the traditional canons of Hollywood women’s fashion and opted for a unique aesthetic: men’s suits, ties, vests, and hats, a choice that reflected her independence and her different way of understanding life.
