Kim Kardashian said that finding a new relationship was not a priority after her divorce from Kanye West, explaining that she preferred to focus on her children, her career and healing before opening herself up to love again.
In an interview with The Sunday Times Style, the 45-year-old entrepreneur and SKIMS founder described her time single as a positive period in her life. Although she later had relationships, Kardashian said she spent about five years generally avoiding actively searching for a new partner.
“I was really single for five years. And that felt really good. I was able to focus on my kids and projects that I really wanted to be involved in,” she said.
Kardashian explained that she never felt pressured to find someone new. Instead, she said she needed time to work on herself after a difficult period in her personal life.
“I really didn’t feel rushed. I didn’t feel empty either,” she said. “I felt like I needed my time. I wanted to fully heal and work on myself. I wasn’t ready to open myself up. I really wasn’t even thinking about it.”

She also reflected on her approach to that period of her life, saying, “The universe works in your favor when you just let it flow.”
Kardashian and West married in 2014 and share four children: North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm. She filed for divorce in 2021, and their marriage was legally dissolved in 2022.
After their separation, Kardashian dated comedian Pete Davidson for about nine months, with their relationship ending in August 2022. Her reference to being “really single for five years” therefore describes a broader period in which she was largely removed from actively pursuing romantic relationships, rather than five consecutive years without any romantic involvement.
