Former Major League Baseball player Edwin Encarnación announced that he has instructed his attorneys to begin divorce proceedings against Dominican communicator Karen Yapoort following what he described as a “regrettable event.”
In a statement, Encarnación said the situation could have put everything he achieved throughout his professional career at risk, but claimed that he managed to remain in control.
“I thank God because He did not let me lose control even after the aggressions and the regrettable event that my eyes had the opportunity to witness,” the former baseball player said.
Encarnación also broke his silence about the situation involving Yapoort, stating: “I verified so many things.”
The former MLB player did not provide further details in the statement about the alleged incident or the specific circumstances that led him to make the decision to initiate divorce proceedings.
