Luz García reaffirms friendship with Santiago Matías despite public disagreement

Santo Domingo, RD – During an interview on the program Despierta América, from the Univisión network, the Dominican communicator Luz García publicly addressed the controversy in which she was involved with the businessman and producer Santiago Matías (Alofoke), after a series of comments generated on social media. When addressing the issue, García clarified that her disagreement was not related to the substance of the criticisms, but rather to the way Matías addressed her after she interviewed the panelist from Alofoke Radio Show, Vitaly Sánchez. However, she highlighted that there has been a friendship between the two for many years.

The communicator assured that both she and Matías share bonds of friendship that extend to their children, mentioning as an example, the closeness they have maintained over time, even through gestures related to their son, Miguel Ángel. “We live in a plural society where, within the framework of respect, I am a mother and he is a father. The only thing that displeased me was the way,” García expressed, while acknowledging that she understands the disruptive style that characterizes the producer.

“I know Alofoke is a show and that’s part of his style, but it’s not mine. I am zero conflict and zero confrontation,” he pointed out.

García insisted that he has never had anything personal against Matías and recalled that he has shown affection and consideration towards his son on multiple occasions. “He knows how much I love my son, just as I know how much he loves his. That has always existed between us,” he stated. Faced with the suggestion from the Despierta América panelists to make a public call to resume communication, the communicator agreed and directly expressed: “Write to me, call me, Santiago, you have my phone number”. The controversy starring Santiago Matías and Luz García was one of the most talked about of the week in the Dominican Republic, after Matías issued messages considered by many to be suggestive, disagreeing with an interview conducted by García with the communicator Vitaly Sánchez, in which controversial topics were addressed, such as the discussion between Vitaly and Amelia while they were colleagues on the Sin Filtro Show program. Subsequently, Santiago Matías himself responded by highlighting the respect he feels for Luz García, whom he described as “one of the most prepared and recognized women in the Dominican media.”
