Nahiony Reyes and Juan Carlos Pichardo will be the hosts of the 42nd edition of the Soberano Awards
The 42nd edition of the Soberano Awards will be hosted by Nahiony Reyes and Juan Carlos Pichardo, two young talents who will combine elegance, grace, and charisma to offer the audience an unforgettable night at the most important and highest-rated artistic awards ceremony in the Dominican Republic.
Nahiony and Juan Carlos will host the ceremony for the first time in their careers, which will take place on Wednesday, March 17 of next year, at a time when each of them, in their respective professional projects, enjoys great popularity and public acceptance. A commitment to young talent for this task by the general production team, in charge of CSJR Producciones, led for the fourth consecutive year by artistic entrepreneur and producer César Suárez Jr.
Marivell Contreras, president of the Association of Art Chroniclers (Acroarte), indicated that the selection of Nahiony and Juan Carlos will allow for a fun, entertaining narrative thread, and, above all, with the professional touch that both bring to everything they undertake in the field of art, culture, and entertainment.
“Premio Soberano, as the country’s main artistic platform, opens its doors to talent that is not only young, but also possesses a high level of professionalism. A commitment that moves between the sobriety of the event and the humor that the public needs to enjoy such a magnificent production,” the journalist commented in a press release. “We are extremely excited about this pair of communicators who will give everything within their reach to offer us a night worthy of what this ceremony has historically represented since 1985.”
The 2026 edition of the Soberano Awards, which as is tradition featured the co-sponsorship of Cervecería Nacional Dominicana, reaffirmed its leadership as the iconic event with the largest audience held in the country.
The awards, however, are no stranger to the careers of both hosts, who have already had the opportunity to be category presenters. Nahiony Reyes, in turn, won the award in her first nomination in 2020 as Television Presenter, a category in which she was nominated again in 2024. Juan Carlos Pichardo was nominated as Revelation of the Year in 2015 and won as Comedian of the Year in 2017, 2018, and 2019, adding his fifth nomination in 2020 in this same section.
Created in 1985 by the Association of Art Chroniclers, the Soberano Awards recognize the most significant achievements of the year at the national level in the fields of communication, film, popular and classical music, and the performing arts. The ceremony also honors the most popular, charismatic, and talented figures in the international field, such as Celia Cruz, Willie Colón, Libertad Lamarque, Emmanuel, the group Camila, Alejandro Fernández, Bebu Silvetti, Juanes, Daddy Yankee, and David Bisbal.
