Santo Domingo.- The businessman and influencer Santiago Matías informed that he received the new identity and electoral card, becoming the first Dominican influencer to obtain the updated document issued by the Central Electoral Board (JCE).
Matías highlighted that the new identification has high security and technology standards, while also highlighting elements of national pride. According to what he expressed, the document incorporates modern features comparable to those of other countries.
“The truth is that it is a document with a lot of security, a lot of technology, and it highlights Dominican pride. The best I have seen, including countries outside of here,” he wrote on his social media.
He also clarified information that has been circulating about organ donation, indicating that it is not a mandatory requirement. He explained that this option is voluntary and that those who wish to include it must present an official certificate from the National Institute of Transplant Coordination.
The influencer urged citizens not to be carried away by rumors and to go and obtain the new ID card starting in April, when it will be available to the general population.
