Taylor Swift has revealed a major surprise for the music video of “Patient Zero,” showing Dakota Johnson and Colin Farrell in the first 13 seconds of the preview released Thursday. Their roles in the project had not been previously announced.
The preview features a dark and mysterious visual style, with Swift washing her hands and appearing in tears, along with scenes showing two bodies underwater, a black rose and two women standing in front of a grave.
The video also features cinematography by Mexican filmmaker Emmanuel Lubezki, the Oscar-winning cinematographer known for his work on “Gravity,” “Birdman” and “The Revenant.”
The full “Patient Zero” music video will premiere Sunday, September 27, during the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards. The single will be released on streaming platforms Friday, September 25.
“Patient Zero” will also be part of “The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore,” an expanded edition of Swift’s album that adds four songs and brings the record to 16 tracks.
