Tijuana, Mexico.- The discovery of a human corpse in an advanced state of decomposition inside a vehicle parked in the vicinity of the stadium, where the Iranian national team is training for the 2026 World Cup, has once again placed the Mexican city of Tijuana in the international spotlight, amidst the presence of teams and fans from different countries.
The body was located in the trunk of a pickup truck with California license plates, abandoned in the parking lot of a supermarket located in front of Estadio Caliente, the site of the Iranian team’s training sessions during their stay in the city bordering the U.S.
According to local authorities, the body was wrapped in a black bag and showed signs of violence.
The location of the body occurred after people who frequent the area reported a strong odor coming from the vehicle, which had apparently been parked for several days.
The case attracted attention due to its proximity to one of the most guarded points in the city, where the training center for the Iranian national team participating in the World Cup is located.
